THIS WORLD OF TESTS
“I’lamū innamā l-ḥayātu l-dunyā la‘ibun wa-lahwun wa-zīnatun wa-tafākhurun baynakum wa-takāthurun fī l-amwāli wa-l-awlād” (Qur’ān 57:20) “Know that the life of this world is only a play, amusement, luxury, mutual boasting, and a competition in accumulating wealth and in children.” The life of this world is to multiply and increase in numbers and gain possession, and amongst yourselves to see oneself higher than others and to be proud of your children. That is nothing. All that is just a test which will go away suddenly. Nothing of any of it will remain.
